catholic poetry room[1]
This week’s poem in the Catholic Poetry Room is by LyLena D. Estabine.

road to Emmaus

road to Emmaus
draw near me
in the midst of
my argument
laugh
in the face of
my misunderstanding

explain
from Moses to Malachi
from hilltop to river
all the places you showed up
for me to behold

come in to my home
set on fire
the heart within me
as we break the bread
