Evening mass:

Bread the color of broken bones

preparing me for the day

nothing will frighten me.


Justin Lacour is a poet living in New Orleans. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Presence: A Journal of Catholic Poetry, Amethyst Review, and The Windhover. He was a finalist in the Catholic Literary Arts 2022 Advent poetry contest.
