catholic poetry room
This week’s poem in the Catholic Poetry Room is by Mike Carlton.

Sons of the Light

God draws water from an endless stream,
To fill our cup for tomorrow’s dream.

New priests spring from a random seed,
To bring the Son to those in need.

Born again, they wake in the night,
To light up a world struggling with what’s right.

These men are chosen to carry the cross,
To challenge the weak and meet the lost.

God gives our church hope, when we’re at the end of our rope.

When the faithful despair, the Lord brings fresh air.
