Advent Reflection — Wonderfully Made

“You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise you, because I am wonderfully made; wonderful are your works! My very self you know.” (Psalm 139:13-14)

We are not accidents of nature. Every single one of us is made intentionally by God because He loves us. No exceptions! Imago Dei—in His image He made us.

Although we lost His likeness through Original Sin, we have never lost His Image—the dignity that derives from the fact He made us out of love and in freedom for a supernatural end.

Yes, we sinned, and yes, we are dependent on His grace, but we are wonderfully made and redeemed by His Son. Called to holiness, in humility let go of your sin and allow Him to transform you into who He made you to be.

Advent is about preparing for the coming of the Christ-Child into your heart. He calls each of us to turn from sin and receive Him.

Come, Lord Jesus.
