“Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name” (Psalm 30:4).
If you are a Christian, you must be a person of prayer. There is no way to have a relationship with Jesus Christ without talking and listening to Him—and that is the very definition of prayer.
If I do not pray, then I do not spend time with the Lord. If I am not praying, all the good works I might do are not derived from an ever-deepening love of God and are therefore empty.
Yet, as important and necessary as prayer is, many find it difficult to pray. When you find prayer difficult, begin like this: first, give thanks to the Lord for all He has done and second, simply praise Him for Who He is; praise His Holy Name. If you do this, you will find you become more inclined and attuned to prayer with the Lord.
Here is an idea. In addition to your current prayer, schedule this thanksgiving and praise. For example, first thing when you awake and last thing before you sleep.
Come, Lord Jesus. We praise Thy Holy Name!
