“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5-6)

We sometimes feel all alone, overwhelmed by life’s challenges, sufferings and injustice. But, the truth is that we are never alone. The Lord is always with us. Some may find that difficult to accept, but it is true nonetheless.

He told us himself that his yoke is easy and his burden is light (see Matthew 11:30). Christ crucified is God’s answer to the suffering we endure in this fallen world. We are never alone.

What is this Holy week we commemorate? It is the final days of the One Who loves us… the One who loves you beyond measure. He died for you so that you might live.

What did I do to deserve God’s love. Nothing! What will I give in thanksgiving for His passion and death, offered out of love for me? Obedience, love, surrender, fidelity, everything!

Remember, you are dust, and to dust you will return. Repent and believe in the Gospel.
