“The Nativity” (Gerburt Christi detail) by Franz von Rohden

“In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets; but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power.” (Hebrews 1:1-3).

Across the years of time, from generation to generation, have come the words of God, Our Father, to His children. Mankind turned from God’s love but, God’s love never turned from mankind. He fathered us through the ages, sending His envoys to prepare us for His own coming in time and thus our Redemption.

All the words of God given to us are completed and perfected in His Son, the Word Who speaks to each of us through His Church. Jesus speaks the love of God to our hearts.

This is such a wonderful truth—God loves us so much, that although we are sinful, He became one of us so as to make us like Himself so that we may forever rejoice in His Beatitude. Don’t let this truth simply float by. Meditate on it—think about it—the profound meaning of this loving, selfless act of our God to do what was necessary for us, not for Him, but for us.

Listen to the Newborn Child of Bethlehem—the Word of God, Who speaks His love to us.
