Daily Lenten Reflection — Heaven and Earth Will Pass Away

How important it is to be reminded of our place and the place of creation in God’s Providence. All of time and space of the created order is just that… creation. God made you and He made me and all that is around us. But Himself, He did not make. God is the same; yesterday, today and always, from all eternity. His words thus are from all eternity and not part of creation.

Creation as we know it will pass away, that is, it will change; but His Word will never change. His Word is our assurance of His love always.

In a world where so much seems to change without warning or good purpose, in a world where the only certainty seems to be its unpredictable nature, we are able to hold fast to our God and His Holy Word, our Savior.

So today, let’s ask God to drive away all uncertainty, anxiety, and fear so that we might accept the grace to know, understand and live His Holy Will. Whatever you ask, Lord; let us serve you through serving one another.

Remember, you are dust, and to dust you will return. Repent and believe in the Gospel.
