Faith is God’s gift to us. When our thoughts turn to God it is because God placed that thought in our heart. As St. John of the Cross would say, it is not our doing at all – this thought we have of God – it is His work, His loving call to us. There is a theological term for the type of Actual Grace that first moves us towards God. It is not dependent on anything we have done. We do not earn it or deserve it. What is this actual grace called?
- primary grace
- sanctifying grace
- prevenient grace
- signal grace
- justifying grace
